Artwork Inspiration:
Rooted in the cultural landscape of Odisha, Pattachitra—literally meaning painting on cloth—has been practiced for centuries by skilled artisan families, often passed down through generations. This style is known for its intricate detailing, strong narrative content, and mythological themes, often depicting tales of Jagannath, Krishna, and other deities.
The artwork is traditionally created using natural materials—cotton cloth treated with a mixture of chalk and gum, and colors made from organic sources like stones, leaves, and shells. Distinctive features include bold outlines, flat application of colors, floral borders, and stylized expressions.
On this kettle, the vivid storytelling and ornamental richness of Pattachitra have been meticulously translated by hand—turning a functional object into a striking symbol of heritage.
100% of proceeds from this collection will be used to train and empower women through the Indian Army Skill Development Centers.
